INTERNATIONAL REPORT — Hyatt Hotels Corp., Hard Rock and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts are all planning their first properties in Prague, which are expected to debut in the next few years.

Hyatt to debut in Czech Republic with Andaz Prague
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is planning the first Hyatt property in the Czech Republic. The “Sugar Palace†hotel project, currently being developed by UBM Development AG, will become the new Andaz Prague. Located on Senovážné Square, close to Prague’s Old Town, the 175-room hotel is slated to open in 2022.

Originally built in 1916, the neoclassical monument, commonly referred to as the Sugar Palace, features a unique architectural design and will provide unprecedented access to Prague’s rich heritage and history. The most important sights are easily reached on foot, allowing guests to experience the unique charm of the city, according to the company. Andaz Prague will feature three separate food and beverage outlets, approximately 4,840 square feet of event space, a fitness center and spa.

Hard Rock hotels take center stage in Prague
The Hard Rock Hotel Prague is set to open in the energetic capital in 2023. Located in the wider city center, the sprawling hotel, with 523 rooms and suites, will offer views of Letna Park and Prague Castle from the sophisticated rooftop Sky Bar.

Alongside the Sky Bar, the 6th floor will house a specialty restaurant, with south-facing terraces overlooking the valley of the Vltava River. Views of the hotel’s three story “feature wall”, a 5,900 square foot building. sound wave of light moving, can be enjoyed at the lobby bar and the hallways will be loaded with carefully selected musical memorabilia. All-day dining will be offered at Sessions, while the Constant Grind Coffee & Bar will serve coffee and light snacks during the day and transform into a cocktail bar at night.

In addition to a rooftop pool and full-service Rock Spa, other brand highlights will include a Body Rock Fitness Center, Rock Shop, @Biz Business Center and the Rock Star Suite, brand signature. The project will feature an 1,800-person ballroom for entertainment and live meeting spaces totaling 59,000 square feet, while Woodstock’s outdoor lawn will be used for exhibits, social events and more, for up to 3,000 people.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts prepares the first hotel in the Czech Republic
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts makes its debut in the Czech Republic with the Golden Prague Hotel. The partnership with Fairmont on this project is R2G Heritage, owner of the property.

Located along the prestigious Parizska Boulevard and on the banks of the Vltava River in Prague’s Old Town, the hotel, currently operated as InterContinental Prague, will join the Fairmont portfolio as the Golden Prague Hotel managed by Fairmont in from May 2020. The hotel is slated to undergo a full renovation program in 2022 and is slated to reopen in early 2023 as the Fairmont Golden Prague. The renovation will include a design concept extolling the history of Parizska Boulevard at its peak in the 1970s.

The Fairmont Golden Prague will have 300 rooms spread over eight floors. This includes 40 junior suites, eight suites and a majestic presidential suite, which will offer views of the Vltava river. The ninth floor will house an elegant restaurant offering locally inspired cuisine and a Sky Bar with views of the Instagram-worthy Prague skyline. In addition, 27 Fairmont serviced apartments adjacent to the hotel will operate as Golden Prague residences after the hotel opens. The owner, R2G, is also planning to renovate the spa and fitness facilities, the 16 meeting and event rooms that can accommodate over 1,000 people and the reception area with new dining and bar areas.
