PSV Eindhoven midfielder Mario Gotze has revealed his team’s bus was parked at a different hotel to avoid loud fireworks on the eve of their Europa Conference League clash with Copenhagen.

The two teams entered Thursday with a tie on the line after an entertaining 4-4 ​​draw in the first leg.

But PSV brushed off the Danish side with a comfortable 4-0 away win, with Gotze even putting himself on the scoresheet.

And the 29-year-old revealed he had a brilliant plan of action in place after hearing Copenhagen fans were planning to interrupt them the day before the match by setting up loud fireworks outside their hotel.

He said: ‘Yes, we placed the bus at the hotel, so that was on purpose. I slept very well!’
